4-run rally in 7th lifts Lady Vikings over Russell

FLATWOODS, Ky. — It was a wild game with a wild finish.

In a game that featured a combined 10 errors, the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings scored 4 runs in the 8th inning to beat the Russell Lady Red Devils 12-8 on Thursday.

Symmes Valley (11-1) snapped an 8-all tie as Brenna Tibbs, Lindsey Freeman, Marley Ferguson all doubled.

The Lady Vikings trailed 8-6 in the 6th inning but tied the game to Freeman’s RBI double and Emma Ridenour’s run-scoring single.

Symmes Valley belted 8 doubles and a triple among its 16 hits.

Freeman was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, Tibbs 3-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, Alyssa Waugh 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI, Ferguson 2-5 with a double and an RBI, Emam Ridenour 3-5 with a double and RBI and Addi Ridenour 2-4 with a double.

Addy Hawk got the win in relief. She worked the final 4 innings allowing just 2 hits and no runs.

Russell (5-10) had 11 hits led by Ava Howard who was 3-4 with a home run and 3 RBI. Ella Wilson was 3-4 with an RBI, Bella Hall was 2-3 with 2 RBI with Karson Honaker and Hadley Cook were 1-4.
