Allen sets scoring record as Lady Dragons roll past Lady Titans

PORTSMOUTH — “Celebration — Celebrate Good Times Come On” may have been the appropriate song to sing on Monday by the Fairland Lady Dragons.

Not only did the Lady Dragons end the regular season with a 62-43 win over the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans, but they had every reason to celebrate more than just a win that gave them a 21-1 record.

Ranked No.2 in the final Associated Press Division 2 high school basketball poll, Lady Dragons senior Bree Allen broke the school’s all-time scoring record and the end result of the win gave 14-year head coach Jon Buchanan career victory No. 300.

Fairland took a 16-10 first quarter lead as Allen scored 5 points including a 3-pointer and Kylee Bruce added 4 points.
