CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday released veteran offensive tackle La'el Collins.
Collins was signed before the 2022 season was part of a plan to upgrade the offensive line to protect franchise quarterback Joe Burrow. He had previously spent six seasons with Dallas before signing a three-year contract with the Bengals.
Collins held down the right tackle spot, starting in 15 games, until he tore his ACL back in December.
The 30-year-old offensive tackle was still rehabbing from the injury at the beginning of this season and was placed on the physically unable to perform list.
The Bengals signed Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Brown Jr. to play left tackle and shifted Jonah Williams to the right side.
