CHESAPEAKE — The Gallipolis Blue Devils didn’t waste any time.
Gallipolis took a 35-0 first quarter lead and went on to beat the Chesapeake Panthers 42-7 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
Gallipolis (4-0, 1-0) ran for 291 yards as Hudson Shamblin carries 16 times for 173 yards and Cole Hines had 85 yards on just 6 carries.
Quarterback Brody Fellure was 1-of-3 with an interception for 10 yards and Braylon Rather was 2-2 for 12 yards to give the Blue Devils 313 total yards.
The Panthers (2-2, 0-1) had 163 of their 186 yards on the ground. Camron Shockley ran for 65 yards on only 8 carries while Marcus Burnside carried 14 times for 56 yards.
Quarterback Jacob Harris was 2-of-7 passing for 23 yards, all to Dannie Maynard.
Chesapeake will host Coal Grove this Friday.
