BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns and former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson reached an agreement to a four-year deal on Monday night.
The deal is worth $57 million, including a guaranteed $27.5M.
The Browns entered free agency with huge need for defensive tackle and managed to land one of the top ones on the market.
Tomlinson, who just turned 29 in February, was a second-round pick with the New York Giants in 2017. He spent his first four seasons with the Giants before signing a two-year, $22 million free agent contract with the Vikings in 2021.
Tomlinson has developed a reputation for being a durable and reliable interior defender who can fit into a 4-3 or 3-4 base front. He has the ability to plug running lanes with his size and strength. He's also registered 13 sacks over six seasons, which forces double-teams from opponents' offensive lines.
Tomlinson should be a major help for Cleveland defense that finished with the second-worst run defense in the league last season.
The 325-pound tackle started in all 64 games with the Giants between 2017 and 2020. He also started the first 23 games during his time in Minnesota before a strained calf cost him four games during the middle of the 2022 season. Tomlinson returned in time for the Vikings' playoff run.
Tomlinson has 288 career tackles (including 26 for loss) and two forced fumbles.
