Bulldogs rally in 2nd half to avoid upset

ATHENS, Ga. — Carson Beck passed for 269 yards, Daijun Edwards, Dillon Bell and Cash Jones each ran for second-half touchdowns, and the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs put together a dominate second half rally to beat South Carolina 24-14 on Saturday.

The two-time defending national champion Bulldogs would find themselves in unfamiliar territory, as they heard a rumbling of boos from their home fans, while running off the field to a 14-3 deficit at halftime.

It was largest point margin that the Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) had trail by in three seasons.

But Georgia would completely turn it around as they returned to the field on a soggy, gloomy day between the hedges.

The Bulldog defense completely shut down Spencer Rattler and the Gamecocks (1-2, 0-1) in the second half, as could the Gamecocks only mustered 129 yards over the final two quarters.

Rattler was held to 6 of 24 passing for 104 yards with two interceptions.
