Canton to host Pittsburgh, New Jersey games for 2023 season

CANTON — The United States Football League and Hall of Fame Village leaders announced on Wednesday that Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium would be the host site for two teams during the upcoming 2023 regular season.

This is part of the league's plan to gradually move the teams into their regular markets while building a regional fanbase.

The venue is a familiar one for the USFL, as it was the site of their postseason games six months ago to finish off their first season.

The two teams to play in Canton will be the Pittsburgh Maulers and the New Jersey Generals.

The North Division playoff game and USFL Championship game will also return to Canton as well. Dates and times will be announced at a later date.

The first game in Canton will be on Sunday, April 23 with the Maulers and Generals squaring off against each other.

In addition to Canton hosting, the USFL previously announced that Birmingham, Alabama would host the Birmingham Stallions and New Orleans Breakers, Memphis Showboats and Houston Gamblers would play in Memphis, Tennessee and Detroit, Michigan would be the home for the Michigan Panthers and Philadelphia Stars.

Last season Birmingham hosted all regular season games before shifting the postseason games to Canton.

Fans can pre-register for USFL Canton game tickets via Ticketmaster to make a deposit for $25 and lock in priority access or visit theUSFL.com for more information.
