College Football: What we know after Week 2

The second week of college football has just wrapped up and we have some reflections about what just happened over the weekend.

The Big Ten West Division had a very bad day

The alleged top teams of the West Division of the Big Ten really took it on the chin Saturday and all of them occurred in front of their home crowds.

Wisconsin lost to Washington State despite the Badgers controlling the clock and racking up more yards, but it was turnovers and penalties that did them in.

Northwestern lost to Duke in the final seconds. The Wildcats appeared to be driving for the tying score, only to fumble the ball at the 1-yard line.

Iowa lost to Iowa State in another abysmal offensive showing generating one offensive score and 150 yards of total offense.

Nebraska lost to Georgia Southern and did so while surrendering 642 yards of offense to the Eagles.

The division race is clearly up for grabs, but it's starting to look as if none of these teams will challenge the best of the East Division.

Deuce Vaughn is fun to watch

Kansas State fans sure have a something special to watch on Saturday's and it's been personally enjoyable to watch him as well.

The five-foot-six running back stands tall among college footballs best rushers. A patient runner when he needs to be, but also shifty and can slash his way through a defense at times.

The junior ran wild against Missouri for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Notre Dame: the Happiest Place in College Football

With their 26-21 loss to Marshall, the Fighting Irish football program has made it clear to everyone, the program is merely a husk of its former self and the administration doesn't mind it one bit.

Come spend your money (in the bookstore and on tickets), take in the attractions (see Touchdown Jesus, see the Grotto, see the stadium), and we'll remind you about the good old days (championship contenders, Heisman candidates, the Gipper)

The school is nothing more than a Disneyland for college football.

But as long as the money rolls in and they can scratch out a 10-win season once in a while, who really needs one of those pesky national titles in the trophy case?
