Cowboys hire Brian Schottenheimer as OC

DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys announced on Saturday that Brian Schottenheimer would be the team's new offensive coordinator.

Just last week, the Cowboys agreed to part ways with their previous offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, who joined the Los Angeles Chargers in the same role.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said head coach Mike McCarthy would be calling the plays next season.

Schottenheimer, 49, was a consultant with the Cowboys last season, so he will be familiar with the teams' personnel.

He spent the 2021 season as the Jacksonville Jaguars' passing game coordinator under Urban Meyer and has also previously worked with the Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets.

Brian is the son of legendary NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer.
