Cubs use six-run 7th to snap Reds win streak

CINCINNATI — Patrick Wisdom had three hits, including two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Chicago Cubs over Cincinnati 12-5 on Tuesday night and snap the Reds three-game winning streak.

Wisdom's two-run single highlighted a seventh inning that saw the Cubs score six runs to overcome a 3-2 deficit. Chicago racked up 16 hits, including four doubles.

Jason Vosler, TJ Friedl and Stuart Fairchild each homered for the Reds, who blew a 3-1 lead.

Vosler hit his third homer in three games and Fairchild hit a two-run shot for his first career pinch homer, in the eighth off Adbert Alzolay (1-0).

Chicago took the lead in the first inning off Jake Fraley's RBI single.

But after that, the Cubs didn't get another hit off Luis Cessa until the sixth, when Wisdom doubled to chase the starter and scored later on Eric Hosmer's single to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Nico Hoerner doubled off Buck Farmer (0-2) to lead off the seventh, Dansby Swanson walked and Happ doubled to drive in the tying run.

Cody Bellinger drew a walk, then Trey Mancini singled for a 4-3 lead and Wisdom followed with a two-run single.

Hosmer reached base on a fielding error by Jonathan India, then Yan Gomes followed up by hitting into a run-scoring double play that extended the Chicago lead to 7-3.

Miles Mastrobuoni added an RBI single as well.

Wisdom and Hosmer recorded RBI doubles during a three-run eighth.

RHPs Hunter Greene will be on the mound for Wednesday's series finale.
