GALLIPOLIS — Ethan Wall put a stop to the losing streak.
Wall fired a 3-hitter as the Fairland Dragons got their first win of the season as they blanked the Gallipolis Blue Devils 2-0 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.
Wall struck out 5 and did not walk a batter in the rain-shortened game.
Fairland got 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning that were erased when the game was called and reverted back to the score after 5 innings.
The Dragons (1-7, 1-0) got a run in the second inning when Garrett Cornwell and Carson Sansom singled and Luke Brown reached on an error as the run scored.
Fairland added an insurance run in the fourth.
Ben Southard was hit by a pitch leading off and moved up on a passed ball, Sansom put down a sacrifice and Brown had an RBI single.
Alex Morgan was 2-3 as the Dragons got 6 hits. Southard was 1-1, Brown 1-2, and Brycen Hunt and Cornwell 1-3.
