PEDRO — As for the Rock Hill Redmen, one bad apple does spoil the whole bunch.
The Redmen had a really bad second quarter and the Fairland Dragons used the one-sided scoring to post a 66-44 Ohio Valley Conference win on Friday.
Fairland (4-0, 2-0) took an early lead and then blew the game open by outscoring the Redmen 18-4 in the second quarter.
Chase Allen scored 5 points as he, Will Davis, Trevor Lochow and Cliff Fransen all hit 3-pointers to give Fairland a 16-10 first quarter lead.
Izaak Cox and Braxton Harper scored 4 points each for the Redmen.
In the decisive second quarter, Brody Buchanan and Allen scored 6 points each and it was 34-14 at the half.
Dylan Griffith and Cox had the only baskets for Rock Hill.
Fairland extended the lead to 45-24 in the third quarter as Allen and Davis combined for 9 points.
Cox had 6 points and Levi Jenkins hit a 3-pointer in the quarter for the Redmen.
Fairland outscored Rock Hill 21-19 in the fourth quarter as Lochow hit a trey and scored 5 points with Allen and Darius Lewis scoring 4 points each and Gavin Ballard and Elijah Kipp each hitting 3-pointers off the bench.
Rylan Barker had 8 points for the Redmen.
Allen had a game-high 20 points to pace Fairland. Buchanan had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while Davis had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Darius Lewis had 6 rebounds.
Cox led the Redmen with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
Rock Hill was without leading scorer Blake Porter.
