FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Rock Hill Redmen took off fast and then put it in cruise control.
Rock Hill built a 17-point halftime lead and then cruised to a 53-42 win over the Green Bobcats on Friday.
Blake Porter drilled three 3-pointers and scored 13 of Rock Hill’s 15 points in the first quarter as the Redmen took a 15-7 lead.
Dylan Griffith and Porter scored 4 each in the second quarter and the Redmen extended the lead to 30-13 at the half.
Green started its comeback in the third quarter as five different players scored to cut the deficit to 40-28. Braxton Harper scored 6 points in the quarter for Rock Hill.
Uriah Satterfield hit a pair of 3-pointers, Landon Klaiber hit a trey and had 5 points while Devlin Maynard added a triple as Green outscored Rock Hill 14-13 in the quarter, but it was not enough to overtake the Redmen.
Rock Hill (3-1) converted 5-of-12 from the line but Levi Jenkins scored 5 points as the Redmen held on.
Porter finished with a game-high 22 points to lead Rock Hill (3-1) while Harper added 8 points and Izaak Cox 7.
Kinbler scored 13 points and Jon Knapp had 10 points to pace Green (0-3).
On Tuesday, Rock Hill will host Portsmouth and Green visits Beaver Eastern.
The Bobcats lost 56-53 to Lynchburg-Clay on Saturday.
