Flyers Can't Overcome Fast Start By Jeeps

SOUTH WEBSTER — It was a one league, two divisions matchup.


Southern Ohio Conference 2 member the South Webster Jeeps downed the SOC-1 St. Joseph Flyers 5-1 on Thursday.


South Webster (6-3-1, 4-3-1) took a 3-0 lead in the first half on goals by Hunter Barnard, Brycin McClintic and Dylan Shuper.


Barnard scored 2 more goals in the second half to give him a hat trick for the game.


St. Joseph (8-2, 3-0) avoided the shutout as Wesley Neal scored off an assist from Landon Rowe with 1:50 to play.


The Flyers took 10 shots with 7 on goal. They did not take a corner kick and had 8 fouls.

Goalkeeper Beckham Waginger turned away 14 shots.


The Jeeps took 26 shots with 19 on goal. They had 5 corner kicks and 9 fouls.


South Webster goalkeeper Aiden McGraw had 6 saves.
