LOUISA, Ky. — The St. Joseph Flyers used a bookend performance for the past week of soccer.
The Flyers won the first game of the week on Monday over Peebles, then lost to SOC foes Minford and South Webster on Tuesday and Thursday, but won 5-0 over the Lawrence County Bulldogs on Saturday.
St. Joseph (9-2) went up 2-0 in the first half as Landon Rowe scored at the 36:27 mark off an assist from Carson Lyons while Wesley Neal scored unassisted 10 minutes later.
In the second half, Rowe got a goal off a touch pass from Texas Jack Whaley with 27:17 on the clock.
Lyons then scored with Whaley dishing out the assist again at the 22:01 mark.
Neal used a touch pass from Gus Listerman to score with 12:02 to play.
The Flyers’ Beckham Waginger turned away 14 shots on goal. The Flyers took 22 shots to 10 for the Bulldogs.
Lawrence County (7-6) goalkeeper Ryland Brady had 9 saves.
The Flyers had 22 shots with 14 on goal. They had one corner kick and no fouls.
The Bulldogs took 10 shots with 7 on goal. They had no corner kicks to fouls.
The Flyers played Western on Tuesday and visit Valley on Thursday at 6 p.m.
