HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Baseball Head Coach Greg Beals unveiled the team’s 2025 schedule on Tuesday.
“I believe we have put together a very competitive schedule and one that will put us in strong national standing relative to the RPI if we are able to win our share of ball games,” Herd Baseball Head Coach Greg Beals said. “The season opener in Hawaii I am sure will catch many eyes, I am excited to provide our student-athletes with this unique opportunity. Weekend two at Georgia Tech will allow us to see how we measure up with a very strong ACC opponent and allows me to go head-to-head with my former college coach and mentor in Coach Hall.”
Marshall opens the season on the road with a four-game series at Hawaii followed by a four-game set at Georgia Tech.
“The two weekends of non-conference competition will allow Herd Nation to get a good look at this year’s ball club before we begin Sun Belt play,” Beals said. “As always, our conference is strong, so it is tough to say whether the Sun Belt slate is favorable or not. Once again, we will be playing our in-state rivals WVU three times, one here in Huntington, one in Morgantown and the series finale at GoMart Park in Charleston.”
The Herd plays its first of 27 home games in 2025 with a three-game series against Farleigh-Dickinson that kick starts a nine-game homestand with Ohio, Bradley and Central Michigan also coming to Jack Cook Field.
There are three matchups against the West Virginia Mountaineers on the schedule with a game in Morgantown (Mar. 25), in Huntington (Apr. 15) and in Charleston (Apr. 30).
This will be the team’s the third season in the Sun Belt Conference. SBC foes visiting The Jack in 2025 are James Madison, Southern Miss, App State, South Alabama and Georgia Southern. Marshall is set to travel to Arkansas State, Troy, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion and Georgia State in SBC play.
The 2025 SBC Tournament returns to Riverfront Park in Montgomery, Alabama, and is set to be played May 20 through May 25.
