HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – As of July 12, there are only 50 days separating Marshall fans from the start of the 2024 Marshall Football Season.

In celebrating that milestone, Marshall Athletics has announced its schedule of game themes for 2024 Marshall Football games.

Highlighted by Homecoming (Oct. 5) and our annual ‘75’ game (Nov. 16), the six home game themes incorporate several different Marshall initiatives into them, bringing Marshall Football, the Huntington community and Marshall fans closer together.

Here is the full list of game themes for 2024, along with some information about each:

Aug. 31 vs. Stony Brook – “We Are … Marshall” Attire: Wear Green!

• The 2024 season kicks off with Marshall Athletics bringing the entire Huntington community together to celebrate the start of another season of Marshall Football. Also,  Huntington-area youth are invited to represent their local groups, including sports teams, spirit teams (cheer and dance) and other local youth groups. In accordance with the Marching Thunder, it will also be Band Day where local high school bands are invited to come play with the Marching Thunder. It is the perfect way to kick off our 2024 season at Joan C. Edwards Stadium!

This game also represents the 25th anniversary of the 1999 Mid-American Conference Championship between Marshall and Western Michigan when the Herd rallied from a 23-0 deficit for a 34-30 win to win the MAC title during Marshall’s 13-0 season in which the team finished No. 10 – its highest ranking in program history.
