Johnson, Blue Jackets end Oilers 6-game win streak

EDMONTON — Kent Johnson scored at 2:29 of overtime to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Wednesday.


The rookie center's goal came when he skated to the top of the slot and fired the puck towards the net during the 3-on-3 overtime period to end Edmonton's six-game winning streak.


Joonas Korpisalo stopped 34 shots for the Blue Jackets (15-30-3).


Connor McDavid had an assist to extend his point streak to 11 games, and Stuart Skinner made 24 saves for the Oilers (27-18-4).


Boone Jenner scored on tipped shot from Adam Boqvist at 12:25 of the first period to give Columbus a 1-0 lead.


Derek Ryan tied it 1-1 at 10:17 of the second period on a shot from the slot that sailed over Korpisalo's shoulder

Korpisalo made an outstanding glove save on Leon Draisaitl at 15:36 of the second on an Oilers power play to keep the game tied


But 40 seconds later, Zach Hyman scored on a tip-in during the same power play at 16:16 to put Edmonton out in front with a 2-1 lead.


Kirill Marchenko tied it 2-2 at 11:26 of the third period. He took the puck to the net out of the corner and scored on his own rebound after stumbling. The rookie forward now has 11 goals in 25 games.
