COLUMBUS — Joonas Korpisalo blocked 36 shots and Kent Johnson's third-period goal proved to be the tiebreaker, as the Columbus Blue Jackets rallied to beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-1 on Thursday night.
Despite a terrible first period that saw the Blue Jackets register a season-low two shots on goal, Columbus was able to fight their way back to grab the lead at 9:40 in the final period.
Johnson's shot came from the left circle, through a screen, just as the Jackets' power play ended.
Patrik Laine also netted a goal and Boone Jenner scored into an empty net with 3 seconds left in the game.
Kyle Connor scored the lone goal for the Jets on the power play to give the Jets a 1-0 lead late in the first period.
Laine evened the score on a power play 10 minutes into the second period when he shot over Rittich's far shoulder from the left circle.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Jets, who also missed a chance to pull even with the Dallas Stars at the top of the Central Division.
David Rittich had 21 saves in the losing effort.
