LUCASVILLE — Green Lady Bobcats’ head coach Melissa Knapp didn’t need any basketball analyst to explain what her team needs.
“We need more offense and ball handlers,” said coach Knapp. “We need to get back in the gym and work.”
Green’s offense struggled in a 60-21 loss to the Lucasville Valley Lady Indians on Wednesday.
Valley took a 6-5 first quarter lead. Green’s Matti Hayslip hit a 3-pointer and Abbie Knapp a basket for the team’s points.
But Karsyn Davis drilled three 3-pointers, Emilie Barr had two triples and Mya Wolfe added a 3-pointer as the Lady Indians hit six shots from beyond the arc in the quarter and outscored Green 25-11 to give Valley a 31-16 lead at the half.
Knapp drained a triple and scored 9 of Green’s 11 points in the second quarter.
Lexie Morrow hit a 3-pointer and scored 11 points and the lead went to 48-18.
The Lady Bobcats could only manage 5 points in the second half.
Knapp led Green with a double-double for the second straight game as she scored 13 and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Morrow led Valley with 18 points.
