Lady Dragons blank Lady Pointers

PROCTORVILLE — Like Old Man River, Kaylee Salyer just keeps rollin’ along.


Salyer pitched a 3-hitter as the Fairland Lady Dragons blanked the South Point Lady Pointers 12-0 in a run rule Ohio Valley Conference game on Monday.


Salyer struck out 7 and did not walk a batter as she faced just 19 batters during her 5 innings of work.


Fairland (7-1, 5-0) combined 8 hits with 8 walks to stay unbeaten in the OVC.


The Lady Dragons took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, went up 4-0 in the second and erupted for 8 runs in the third inning to cruise to the win.


Katie Dehart was 2-3 with a double and.4 runs batted in to pace the offense. Makena Black was 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI, Salyer 2-3 with a double and RBI while Ally Shephard was 1-1 with 2 RBI, Hailey Sammons 1-3 with an RBI and Madi McKinley 1-1.


Adyson Copley, Josie Kidd and Maddy Evans all went 1-2 for South Point (3-8, 0-5).
