PROCTORVILLE — Kamryn Barnitz scored a lot of points in the Fairland Lady Dragons’ game on Tuesday.
Come to think of it, Barnitz has scored a lot of points throughout her career.
Barnitz scored a game-high 24 points in Fairland’s 72-31 romp of the Portsmouth West Lady Senators which was a lot of points.
But Barnitz also scored at the 5:36 mark of the fourth quarter that gave her 1,000 career points.
Bailey Russell scored 17 points to go with 8 rebounds, and Ava Layne scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Barnitz drained a pair of 3-pointers, Russell had 6 points and Layne hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points as Fairland raced to a 21-6 first quarter lead.
Russell had two 3-pointers and scored 10 points Barnitz had 7 points including a 3-pointer and Addyson Cornell scored 6 points as Fairland outscored West 24-15 to take a 45-21 cushion.
Macey Whisman and Brayleigh Pistole scored 6 points each for West (10-7).
The Lady Dragons (15-3) extended the lead to 63-29.
Barnitz hit two more shots from behind the arc, Cornell and Godby had 4 points each and Layne added a triple.
Whisman scored 5 of the Lady Senators’ 8 points in the quarter.
Barnitz scored 5 points including a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter as Fairland outscored West 9-2.
Fairland plays at Portsmouth on Monday in a must-win game. The Lady Dragons need a win to tie Portsmouth for the league title.
