FORT GAY, W.Va. — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers got the jump on the Tolsia Lady Rebels.
The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 9-point lead and went on to beat theLady Rebels 52-37 on Wednesday.
Chesapeake went up 18-9 in the first quarter as Kate Ball scored 9 points and Erin Hicks got all 7 of her points with both players hitting 3-pointers.
Jacey Crum hit a 3-pointer and had 5 points while Amber Stevens scored 4 for Tolsia.
Each team scored 8 points in the second quarter and the Lady Panthers were up 26-17 at the half.
Hannah Webb, Clairynn Romas, Sara Dillon and Ball each had a basket for the Lady Panthers (10-9).
Crum had another 3-pointer for the Lady Rebels (6-9).
Ball drilled a 3-pointer and scored 5 points, Romans hit a trifecta and Webb scored 3 points as the lead grew to 39-23 after 3 quarters.
Kilee Preece got 3 points while Emily Artrip and Stevens had 2 each in the quarter for Tolsia.
Brooklyn McComas drained a pair of 3-pointers while Ball hit a trey and went 4-of-4 at the foul line to prevent any comeback thoughts by Tolsia.
Crum had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Stevens 4 points for the Lady Rebels in the quarter.
Ball finished with a game-high 23 points to pace Chesapeake.
Tolsia was led by Crum with 14 points and Stevens with 11.
