Lady Pointers get 3 in double figures to beat Lady Rams

SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers were in need of points to match the Raceland Lady Rams.

And they got it.

Getting 3 players in double figures, the Lady Pointers held off the Lady Rams 66-59 on Thursday.

South Point’s Camille Hall scored a game-high 19 points with Jasmyn Jones getting 15 points and Liz Ermalovich scoring a career-high 14 points.

South Point (12-8) took a 17-14 first quarter lead as Camille Hall scored 7 points, Samija Bradburn hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points with Liz Ermalovich drilling a 3-pointer.

Carley Boyd knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and scored 7 points including a 4-point play with Naomi Maynard also making a 3-pointer for the Lady Rams.

Raceland (11-12) rallied to tie the game 27-all at the half as Maynard got 5 points including a 3-pointer and Mikenna Lacks also hit a trey.

The Lady Pointers got 4 points from Jasmyn Jones and Hall.

South Point took a 47-45 lead in the third quarter as Ermalovich hit a trifecta and scored 7 points while Hall and Jones added 4 points each.

Boyd made two more 3-pointers and had 7 points, Boggs hit a trey and Maynard was 3-of-3 from the foul line.

The Lady Pointers were able to pull away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Lady Rams 19-14.

The Lady Pointers were clutch at the foul line as they converted 11-of-16. Saratina Jackson was 6-of-10, Ermalovich 2-of-2 and Jones 3-of-4.

Boyd and Maynard had 3-pointers and Kennedy Taylor scored 6 points.

Boyd led 3 Lady Rams in double figures with 18 points. Maynard scored 14 and Taylor 11.

South Point will host Wheelersburg at 1 p.m. Saturday.
