MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Lions and Tigers and Bihl, oh my!
Behind the 3-hit pitching of Ava Bihl, the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers beat the Loris (S.C.) Lady Lions 9-4 on Tuesday as a part of the Ripken Experience.
Bihl struck out 9, walked 3 and 3 of the 4 runs were earned. She also went 2-2 at the plate with an RBI.
Ironton (12-3) knocked out 11 hits with Braegan Thomas going 3-3 with a double and RBI to lead the offense.
Layla Townsend was 1-1, Olivia Wilson 1-3 with an RBI, Khalil Martin 1-2 with an RBI, Aubrey Ferguson 2-4, Miley Bias 1-4 with 2 RBI and Kenley Neal had an RBI.
Loris (9-9) got a solo home run from Jaci Griffin who was 1-2. Natalie Key was 1-1 and Caitie Black 1-2.
After Loris got a run in the top of the first, Ironton roared back with 7 runs in the bottom of the inning and never looked back.
