COAL GROVE — The offense was off and running again.
The Fairland Lady Dragons’ offense resumed at a high level in a 76-25 Ohio Valley Conference win on Monday over the Coal Grove Lady Hornets.
Fairland (11-1, 7-1) had 4 players in double figures with Bailey Russell scoring 16 points, Ava Layne 15 points, Addison Godby 14 and Kamryn Barnitz 12.
Addison Cornell, Stella Whitley and Godby all had 5 rebounds. Barnitz had 6 assists and both Russell and Taliaferro 5 apiece. Taliaferro also had 5 steals, Godby and Barnitz 4 each and Russell 3 thefts.
Fairland got its offense going in the first quarter by taking a 19-8 lead as Russel hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 8 points, Barnitz had a trey and scored 5 points and Taliaferro added 4 points.
Kasey Vanderhoof had 4 points for Coal Grove.
The lead ballooned to 45-15 at the half as Layne scored 11 points including a 3-pointer. Godby and Taliaferro added 4 points each in the 26-point quarter.
Fairland outscored Coal Grove 18-4 in the third quarter to build an insurmountable 63-19 lead.
Godby scored 6 points and Russell hit a trifecta and scored 5 points.
Godby scored 4 points as 5 different players scored in the fourth quarter for Fairland.
Kendall Taylor and Vanderhoof had 6 points each and Jenna Anson 5 points for Coal Grove (5-6, 2-5).
