HUNTINGTON – The Marshall University Men’s Basketball team (2-5) dropped its contest to the Miami University RedHawks (4-3), 79-74, Saturday night at the Cam Henderson Center. Nate Martin registered his fifth double-double of the season.

“We’re obviously not a very good team,” Herd men’s basketball head coach Dan D’Antoni said after the contest. “There are a lot of things we need to straighten up. It starts with me. Somehow, we have to right the ship and get it right.”

The junior from Houston, Texas, scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his double-double in the contest. Martin made four of his six shots from the field and went 6-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Kamdyn Curfman and Kevon Voyles joined Martin in double-figure scoring with 13 and 10, respectively. Jacob Conner finished the game with 10 rebounds and nine points.

The Herd outrebounded the RedHawks 47-35, 15-6 on the offensive glass. MU turned those 15 boards into 13 second-chance points while holed Miami to no second-chance points.

Marshall also took the paint outscoring its opponent 28-24.
