CANTON — The Mid-American Conference tabbed reigning champion Miami of Ohio as the preseason favorites for the 2024 season at the league's media at the
Pro Football Hall of Fame on Friday.
The RedHawks received 119 total points and nine first-place votes in the Head Coaches Preseason Poll. Toledo was picked to finish second with 109 total points and three first-place votes.
The Rockets defeated the Miami during the regular season 21-17 at Miami on Oct. 21. However, the RedHawks returned the favor with a 23-14 win in the MAC championship on Dec. 2.
Miami was also picked by 10 coaches to win the MAC championship game in December. Toledo received two coaches to win the league's title game.
Ohio was picked to finish fifth.
The Bobcats will open the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 against the Syracuse Orange. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ACCN at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.
