STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach was hospitalized on Sunday after suffering what is being called a "personal health issue" at his home earlier in the day, the university said in a news release.
The school didn't provide any other information per the health of the 61-year-old Leach.
Leach was taken by ambulance from his Starkville home to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, approximately 125 miles away.

Leach, in his third season as Mississippi State's coach, revealed to the media after the regular season concluded that he battled pneumonia during the season but that he was feeling better.
Mississippi State president Mark Keenum and athletic director Bracky Brett said defensive coordinator Zach Arnett will serve as interim head coach in Leach's absence.
No. 22 Mississippi State (8-4) is slated to face Illinois (8-4) in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on Jan. 2.
