Nets agree to trade Durant to Suns

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns pulled off a blockbuster deal on Wednesday night, acquiring 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, according to multiple reports.

If the sources are true, the Suns will now add Durant to a starting lineup that already features an star-studded backcourt of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, along with center Deandre Ayton.

Phoenix dealt Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks and additional draft compensation to the Nets in the trade.

The Suns are also receiving forward T.J. Warren in the deal.

Durant, 34, currently averages nearly 30 points per game this season. He's currently recovering from a ligament strain in his right knee, but is expected to return to the court soon.

The trade came just hours after Mat Isbia, the new majority owner of the Suns, was introduced in Phoenix. A former walk-on at Michigan State who played under Tom Izzo, didn’t waste any time shaking things up the NBA.

Phoenix is still seeking to win their first NBA championship. The Suns made the Finals two seasons ago, but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games. They also made two other appearance in the Finals in 1976 and 1993.

The Suns have had several injuries this season, but played better in recent weeks. They jumped to fifth in the Western Conference with a 30-26 record. Booker (groin) and Paul (hip) have both recently returned.
