OVC All-Star Games Showcases Talent, Scoring

PROCTORVILLE — There was a lot of talent on all the teams which meant for close games.


In the Ohio Valley Conference All-Star Games on Tuesday, both the boys and girls games were decided by razor-thin margins.


The home team edged the visiting team 74-73 in the girls game while the home team just got past the visiting team 105-103.


In the girls’ game, the home team was led by Fairland’s Bree Allen with 15 points, Portsmouth’s Daysha Reid with 13 and Chesapeake’s Kate Ball hit four 3-pointers for 12 points.


Sienna Allen had 21 points for the visiting team while Fairland’s Kylee Bruce had 17 pints and Addison Godby 11.


In the boys’ game, Portsmouth’s Isaiah Lewis had 15 points, Gallipolis’ Dylan Sheets 13 and Portsmouth Donovan Breech 12 for the home team.


DeAndre Berry of Portsmouth scored a game-high 34 points and Fairland’s Brody Buchanan 24 to lead the visiting team.


The boys’ slam dunk winner was Caleb Lovely of South Point and the girls’ winner was Bruce.


Allen was named the girls’ game Most Valuable Player. Ironton’s Lola Hankins was the girls’ 3-point champion.
