South Webster head coach Norm Persin was presented with the annual John Wooden Legacy Award at the Ohio High School Athletic Association state finals by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association president and South Point principal Doug Graham.

The award is presented to identify a legendary coach for both boys and girls basketball from Ohio for their contribution to the game of basketball and the youth of Ohio.
Persin is currently the winningest active coach in Ohio high school basketball and he is third overall in career wins with a record of 823-226.
The only two coaches with more wins are Richard Kortokrax with 890 and Joe Petrocelli with 831.
