LOGAN — The greatest season in Portsmouth Lady Trojans basketball is one step from more greatness.
The Lady Trojans routed the Portsmouth West Lady Senators 65-35 on Wednesday in the Division 3 regional semifinals.
Portsmouth (21-5) will play North Adams at 7 p.m. Saturday in the regional finals with the winner advancing to the Final Four at the University of Dayton.
The Lady Trojans never tailed and the game was only tied once at 2-2.
Sienna Allen hit a 3-pointer and scored 9 points as Portsmouth took a 13-8 first quarter lead.
Emma Sayre scored 5 points including 3-of-3 at the foul line and Hailey Carver hit a 3-pointer for West.
Daysha Reid knocked down a 3-pointer and scored 5 points and Hayven Carter and Allen added baskets in the second quarter as Portsmouth led 22-10 at the half.
Sayre sank 2 free throws for West’s points in the quarter.
The Lady Trojans came out strong in the third quarter and picked up the pace as they outscored West 23-8 to expand the lead to 45-18.
Reid buried a pair of 3-pointers, Keke Woods scored 6 points and K.K. Mays drilled a trifecta, Allen had 4 more points while Emily Cheatham added a basket to account for Portsmouth’s scoring in the quarter.
Sayre had 6 points and Emily Moore 2 free throws for the Lady Senators.
Portsmouth continued to stretch its lead in the fourth quarter. The Lady Trojans had their biggest lead of 31 points in the quarter.
Allen had 6 points, Woods, Bry Shannon and Savannah Cantrell all hit 3-pointers and Mays added 4 points for the Lady Trojans in the quarter.
Sayre scored 9 points including a 3-pointer and Macy Whisman hit trey and scored 5 points and Allyson Buckner also had a 3-pointer for West in the quarter.
Allen scored 21 points and Reid got 15 points to lead the Portsmouth offense.
West (21-4) was paced by Sayre with a game-high 22 points.
