WAYNE, W.Va. — Logan Prater took matters into his own hands.
Prater pitched and batted the Wayne Pioneers to an 8-2 win over the Fairland Dragons on Tuesday.
Prater went 5 innings giving up one unearned run and 3 hits on the mound and was 2-4 with a pair of doubles at the plate.
Jacob Thompson was 1-3 with 2 RBIs for Wayne (3-6). The Pioneers had only 6 hits but the Dragons made 4 errors.
Fairland (1-4) had 4 hits as Josh Gillespie, Cooper Cummings and Elias Blankenship all went 1-3 with Wyatt Thomas going 1-4. Ethan Wall and Luke Brown had RBIs.
Garrett Cornwell went 3 innings as he took the loss. He gave up 5 hits, 6 runs, 4 earned runs, struck out 3 and walked 2.
