PROCTORVILLE — When you’re hot, you’re hot.
The Fairland Lady Dragons used some red-hot shooting to beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 86-21 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Fairland (13-3, 9-1) shot 35 of 53 from the field for 66 percent including 10 of 22 from beyond the arc for 46 percent.
Kamryn Barnitz had 18 points, 4 assists and 3 steals to pace Fairland. Bailey Russell had 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals with Isa Taliaferro getting 13 points and 4 assists. Addison Godby had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
J’lynn Risner scored 13 points for Rock Hill (6-10, 1-8).
Fairland exploded in the first quarter and opened up a 32-4 lead.
Taliaferro hit a 3-pointer and scored 11 points, Russell had a 3-pointer and scored 9 points while Ava Layne hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points.
The Lady Dragons continued to rack up the points and extended the lead to 54-13 at the half.
Addison Cornwell scored 6 points and Taegan Leep got 4 points to pace Fairland in the quarter.
Risner scored all 9 Rock Hill points in the quarter.
Fairland extended its lead to 71-15 in the third quarter as Barnitz hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points while Russell had 5 points including a triple.
In the fourth quarter, Fairland outscored Rock Hill 15-6 as 6 different players scored.
Myles Bailey and Samantha Bamer hit 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for Rock Hill.
