PEDRO — Nothing like a good team effort to produce a good team win.
The Rock Hill Redwomen got a lot of production from everyone in a 52-41 win over the Vinton County Lady Vikings on Monday.
Hope Easterling had a big game with a double-double as she scored a game-high 23 points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds. She also blocked 3 shots and 3 steals.
J’lynn Risner had a strong game with 12 points and 12 rebounds along with 5 blocked shots. Emma Scott had 9 points and 2 steals while Abby Schug hit a pair of 3-pointers to go with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
“The girls are getting better. They played hard and were aggressive,” said Rock Hill coach Eric Bailey. “Abby Schug had a nice game. She’s starting to come around and make a lot of contributions.”
Easterling scored 10 points and Schug hit a 3-pointer in the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 16-9 lead.
Four different players scored for the Lady Vikings.
Easterling had 7 points and Risner 4 points to account for all of Rock Hill’s total in the quarter and the lead was 27-13 at the half.
Trinity Williams had a 3-pointer for Vinton County.
Risner scored 5 points and Schug had another trifecta in the third quarter and Rock Hill extended its lead to 40-24.
Caryssa Brisker hit a pair of 3-pointers and Williams had another trey for the Lady Vikings in the quarter.
Vinton County attempted to make a run in the fourth quarter but could only cut 5 points off the deficit as Williams hit 3 more 3-pointers but the Lady Vikings could only convert 4-of-8 free throw attempts.
Easterling scored 6 more points while Scott and Risner got 3 points each to end any comeback hopes.
Williams scored 15 points on 5 shots from behind the arc for Vinton County (5-9).
