HEATH — The boys Division 3 Regional track meet was the Isaac Cox show.
The Rock Hill junior is returning to the state meet as he qualified in two events and he placed in a third event.
Cox won the long jump with a leap of 22-11..25, well ahead of Corbin Bloomfield of Buckeye Central who went 22-2.
Cox also qualified in the 200 meters as he finished second with a 22.4 time, just behind Gabe Oppong of Tree of Life Christian who ran a 22.32. Evan Hudson of Oberlin has the overall fastest qualifying time of 22.04 seconds coming into the state meet.
Cox finished seventh in the high jump as he cleared 6-feet.
There are five jumpers who have a distance of 22-plus feet from the regional results. Cox has the longest jump with Michel Ballone of Lowellville second at 22-6.
Rock Hill’s Sam Rusk cleared 11-8 and was seventh in the pole vault. Teammate Nixon Snavely was seventh in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:24.41.
The top four finishers in each event qualified for the state meet Thursday through Saturday at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium.
