SOUTH POINT — My turn.
In the last game, Kamryn Barnitz hit 9 3-pointers and scored 27 points in a win. On Friday, Bailey Russell knocked down 7 triples and scored 29 points as the Fairland Lady Dragons downed the South Point Lady Pointers 76-38 in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Barnitz added 12 points in the win as Fairland improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the OVC.
Santina Jackson scored 11 points with Samiya Bradburn and Jasmyn Jones scored 9 each for the Lady Pointers (1-2, 0-2).
Isa Taliaferro and Addison Godby scored 4 points each with Russell adding a trey for a 17-7 first quarter lead.
Molly Adams, Jocelyn Skeens and Jackson all had baskets for South Point.
The Lady Dragons erupted for 26 points in the second quarter to take a 43-16 lead at the break.
Jones scored 4 points in the quarter for South Point.
Russell hit the high-speed switch as she hit three 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the quarter.
Taegan Leep also made a 3-pointer and Kamryn Barnitz added 4 points for the Lady Dragons.
Bradburn got 4 points for the Lady Pointers.
Russell didn’t slow down in the third quarter as she made three more 3-pointers and scored 11 as the lead grew to 63-26.
Barnitz had another 3-pointer and scored 6 points while Stella Whitley drained a 3-pointer as Fairland continued to add to its lead.
Jackson had a 3-pointer and scored 5 points while Bradburn added a trey in the quarter.
