ATHENS, Ga. — Kario Oquendo scored 21 points, Braelen Bridges and Justin Hill both combined for 19 second-half points to help the Georgia Bulldogs upend the Kentucky Wildcats 75-68 on Saturday.
Oquendo finished 5-of-15 from the field but made 10 of 12 at the line. For the game, the Bulldogs were 25 of 29. Kentucky went 11-of-13 from the charity stripe.
Bridges scored 10 of his 12 points over a five-minute stretch when Georgia took back the lead for good. Hill, who finished with six assists, had a 3-pointer during the run and added four free throws late.
The win snapped a three-game skid for the Bulldogs and dealt a damaging blow to Kentucky's tournament hopes. The Wildcats are currently projected to be on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament.
Oscar Tshiebwe scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to earn his 14th double-double of the season. Antonio Reeves had 20 points — including four 3-pointers — and Jacob Toppin added 12.
Tshiebwe, who scored 37 points against Georgia on Jan. 17, was held to just six points on 1-of-4 shooting during the first half. But he scored eight straight early in second to help the Wildcats (16-9, 7-5) erase a 10-point halftime deficit and pull even at 47.
A 3-pointer from Toppin gave Kentucky a 52-48 lead with 11:53 to go.
But the Bulldogs (15-10, 5-7 SEC) would respond with an 18-6 run to regain the lead and never looked back on their way a key SEC win.
