UK's Coen takes OC job with Buccaneers

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Sunday that they have agreed to terms with Liam Coen to become the new offensive coordinator.

Coen became the favorite at the conclusion of interviews, which concluded on Friday. Sources have said details are still being worked out between the University of Kentucky, where Coen is currently under contract as the Wildcats' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

One reason for Coen's popularity was his last coaching job in the NFL, where he was on Sean McVay's Los Angeles Rams staff as an assistant wide receivers coach from 2018 to 2019, assistant quarterbacks coach in 2020 and offensive coordinator in 2022.

In between those stints in Los Angeles, Coen was Kentucky's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2021 and 2023.
